Rural Livelihoods Empowerment Program
Why Change is Urgent
India’s economic stability relies heavily on the growth of agriculture and allied sectors. The Government of India has set an ambitious goal of doubling farmers’ income, yet the key challenge remains ensuring that small and marginal farmers earn fair returns while meeting the country’s rising demand for food. Traditional, less-efficient farming practices often prevent farmers from realizing the full potential of their land. Nearly half are indebted due to high input costs and low returns. This economic insecurity drives cycles of poverty, distress, and, in severe cases, substance abuse, suicide, and violence—making rural distress both an economic and social crisis.
What we Do?
The Rural Livelihoods Empowerment Program (RLEP). is an initiative by SPYM dedicated to strengthening the economic resilience of farmers and rural communities. RLEP provides sustainable solutions by equipping farmers with modern agri-technologies, skill development, and collective enterprise models that reduce dependency on traditional practices and improve productivity.
Focus Areas

Impact
So far, RLEP has impacted over 10,000+ farmers and families across India, giving them access to modern mechanization, organic inputs, and better market opportunities. Farmers have reported reduced costs, higher efficiency in cultivation, and improved incomes through rental services and collective marketing.
